Capital Group

The PERN Group is the national and regional leader of oil logistics. PERN S.A., a parent company within the Capital Group, was created in 1959 to transport oil from the Soviet Union to Poland and East Germany. Since 1963, when the first batch of Soviet oil reached by pipelines into the tanks in Adamów, more mains were quickly built to transport crude oil and petroleum products. In 1999, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company of the State Treasury wholly owned by the State Treasury.

The PERN Group is a dynamically growing Capital Group, which includes PERN S.A. five subsidiaries: NAFTOPORT Sp. z o.o., Naftoserwis Sp. z o.o., Naftor Sp. z o.o., Siarkopol Gdańsk S.A. and Sarmatia Sp. z o.o.

In total, the Group manages a network of oil and product pipelines, has approximately 3.5 million m3 of storage capacity for crude oil and 1.8 million m3 for liquid fuels. It has a marine transhipment terminal with a capacity of 40 million tons of crude oil per year. It operates in the field of transport, transhipment and storage of crude oil, transhipment and blending of fuels and laboratory testing of petroleum products. In addition, the Group provides services in the scope of dosing additives and biocomponents for fuels, performs technical inspections of pipelines, leases optical fibers, conducts internet data transmissions, and also offers colocation services.

The Capital Group includes oil sector companies that provide logistics services in the field of crude oil and liquid fuel supply (transport, storage, reloading). In addition, the PERN Group gathers ancillary companies that:

  • carry out work related to the inspection and maintenance of pipelines, tanks and other technical infrastructure of oil companies;
  • provide security services for persons and property as well as fire protection;
  • apart from testing and assessing the technical condition of steel long-distance pipelines using smart pistons, also develop new technologies and solutions in the field of pipeline testing, i.e. design, construction and modernization of research pistons;
  • provide reception, storage, handling and forwarding services for granulated sulfur, base oils and fuel oils.

The PERN Capital Group also includes a research company, set up to explore the possibility of launching the Eurasian Oil Transport Corridor (EAKTR), currently on the Baku – Odessa – Brody – Płock – Gdańsk section.

The PERN Capital Group’s strategy is to strengthen the Group’s position in the area of oil storage and transport and development in the area of fuels, including through the expansion of storage capacities and pipeline networks.
